I've recently read the first three trades of DMZ, and am waiting on Promethea volume 1 from the local library so I can start that.
I also recently read most of Brian Michael Bendis's run on Daredevil. I never thought I would so genuninely enjoy a super hero comic.
What have you been reading?

I just read Criminal, because Sleeper was so fantastic. It's nowhere near as interesting as Sleeper, but just as well done. Criminal is a very, very straightforward story about, you know, a criminal. Not much else to say about it. Also read the first two issues of Supergod, which I like a lot. The basic premise is that a variety of nations, through a bunch of different scientific means, literally create their own gods as part of a weapons race, and surprisingly, things get out of hand. It's by Warren Ellis, and it's pretty enjoyable.

I read Season 1 of Sleeper. I likeed the idea a lot, but the execution didn't thrill me. Supergod sounds interesting. The only thing of Ellis's I've read is Fell, which was awesome.
I really loved DMZ, and blew through trades 4-7 in a few hours. I tried Promethea, but the art kept getting in the way of my enjoyment of the whole.
Drac, I think that's "Bunnicula".

Just read the first two issues of The Stuff Of Legend, which was described to me as "Toy Story meets Saving Private Ryan". Which it basically is. Really nice artwork, and a fairly enjoyable story so far.

Sounds interesting, but I'll wait for "Finding Nemo meets The Abyss."

Surely there's an Aquaman story arc somewhere out there that already fits that bill

Read the first few issues of a few different series that have just started up.
North 40 – It's loosely based on HP Lovecraft's mythos, and while that's usually a *really* bad sign, it's actually kind of good. Not anything brilliant, but nice artwork, weird creatures, and a goodly amount of gore. Generic D&D Nerd and Generic Goth Chick use what is essentially the Necronomicon to awaken what is essentially Cthulu. In doing so, most of the town's inhabitants mutate in various ways, the town gets overwhelmed by the undead, and a handful of super-powered heroes pop up to save the day. Strangely, one of the heroes looks like an ex of mine. It's unsettling to me.
The Anchor – A big guy who's job it is to keep demons in hell, literally by like, punching and kicking them back into hell, fails, and demons start fucking up the real world. So, he comes to the real world, and starts punching and kicking the demons. But his soul is simultaneously still punching and kicking demons back in hell, and the injuries he sustains in hell manifest in the real world. Reminds me a lot of Hellboy, and I wouldn't be too surprised if there was a connection there, whether it's the writer or editor or artist, or what have you. Pretty enjoyable first issue.
God Complex – Apollo decides he doesn't wanna be a God anymore, so he quits and becomes mortal, and falls in love with a human lady. Got like 4 or 5 pages in and realised it wasn't for me. The writing just felt.. Smarmy. Kind of amateur-ish feeling too.
Irredeemable – Read the first issue, liked it well enough. World's greatest superhero goes crazy and becomes the number one supervillain. Burns another superhero and his family to death using his eyeballs in the first couple pages.

Just read the first story arc of Kick Ass, mainly to see if the movie would be something I could possibly be interested in. I didn't hate it nearly as much as I thought I would, but it really suffers from trying to get too much done in too little time. Not horrible, though.
