Very nice. I got totally out-Star Wars triviaed the other night in the public house, so I feel like I should get back into it hardcore. If I had a copy of Windows and the JK CDs to hand, I'd bloody well get my game on.

I've been looking for that for awhile now. I have a few of the Yuuzhan Vong guys that came with him, but I can't find anyone willing to part with their Kyle.
There's also a Phase 3 Dark Trooper available which kicks all kinds of ass, but it's one of those deals where they include once piece of it with other figures and you have to collect all the packs to build the Dark Trooper. And since the packs with the DT parts are $17 each and there are five of them, I think I'm going to be doing without for awhile.

As I understand it, the Kyle/Vong pack was some kind of Comic Book Character special edition two pack?
Because in the most recent spate of EU stuff they've picked up his character and he's a master now, which is funny because I thought the general Star Wars character rule was that outside of the film characters, authors only ever wrote about the ones they created.

I've got a different one, actually. It was part of the Saga Legends collection and has a Fans' Choice #1 logo on it. It looks a bit cheap, but it is a Phase III Darktrooper. I bought it because this one guy was buying several of them and I managed to grab one. He gave me that dirty look as if I just stole money from him. That's okay because it's people like him that make waiting in lines to buy Soundwave at Comic Con fucking terrible and doing shit like this feels like it's a small, empty victory.

Yeah, I have that one, but the newer one is significantly more badass

There's a phase 1 coming out, too:

And yeah, I have some stories about batshit insane toy collectors. One guy tried to follow me home. I was looking at toys, as I do, and this profoundly unwashed guy whom I've never ever met approaches me. Here's the entirety of our conversation:
Him: "So, you collect action figures, too?"
Me: "….yep." (I mega-loath dealing with these people…)
Him: "So, I've got some time…can I come over to your house?"
Me: "….no."
Him: *looking super-dejected* "Oh."
One of the more surreal moments of my life. I try to do as much of my toy shopping online as possible. I've talked to some of the workers in toy departments occasionally. They have crazy stories. One woman I talked to at Toys R Us said there was a guy who came up with some toy he wanted to buy, stood in front of her and smashed the package, then said, completely straight faced, "this is damaged. Can I get a discount?" Absolute freakshows. I'm ashamed to number among them, but I just love action figures so much. Yeah, I'm surprised I've had sex, too.

Phase 1 looks rad, I'll be grabbing that one.
I know I could probably get a discount on those Walmart figures with the Phase 3 parts, but like you said, it doesn't seem worth it. I know there's a collector's warehouse nearby that always has things like this assembled and they sell the opened figures for $5, usually, but they always charge way too much on the assembled figure. I'm betting this one would be ~$35 to 50.
And the stories. God, the stories. I'll save that for when I'm able to articulate better in writing.

I like all of you too much to make fun of your action figures. But not by much.
