Okey dokey so big changes on the server as I've added a fair few plugins. Some of them mainly because, brace yourselves, no one is an op anymore *gasp*. This was done for two reasons, firstly people have been going more than a little nuts with the /give command lately and secondly, people have been going more than a little nuts with the /time set 0 lately…basically the server was no longer a survival server. Before I'm lynched check out the plugins I've added below as I think you'll see while it's restricted somethings it's now more managing things in measured doses :P I also realise a side effect being the fact /tp is now gone too. However given the fact we now have stargates and things like powered rails, /tp isn't really necessary….and to be honest I was starting to get annoyed with certain people /tp'ing me somewhere randomly without warning anyway :P
BUKKIT PLUGINS (http://plugins.bukkit.org)
Timefold – I don't think anyone really likes the current 20min day/night cycle….it's just way too short which is a big reason people have been using /time so much. This plugin adds the ability to change the duration of it. Currently I have set it at Days 3 cycles (30 mins) Nights 1 cycle (10 mins) but am happy to tweak it as necessary. Note – because of the way Minecraft's client is coded the sun/moon speed will still be the same but will reset as necessary. This kinda sucks but isn't too noticable. You can use the command /timefold to see which cycle it is in (currently: Day 1, Day 2, Day 3, Night 1).

Stackable – This should make a few people happy (including me!
). This plugin allows us to control the stackability of items which should make inventory management a bit easier. All foods now stack (bread 16, cake 4, mushroom soup 6, grilled pork 12, raw pork 24, raw fish 24, cooked fish 16)…..also tools (4), armors (64), boats and regular minecarts (64), signs and doors (64), powered and storage minecarts (16). These may change based on feedback, but I've tried to keep things balanced and non game-breaking.

LWC – Lockable chests, doors, furnaces, dispensers, signs! This plugin is pretty powerful so have a look at the commands. Just don't go locking any of the public chests or doors :P
(http://forums.bukkit.org/threa…..t-766.967/)
FirstSpawn – Ensures new players on the server now spawn at Homefort instead of out in the fucking wilderness. It also adds a /tpfirstspawn command that allows anyone to teleport to Homefort to greet people..or….for whatever reason.
PlayerList – basically like the list command for Ops but everyone can use it, shows who is online -> to use type in /online
(http://forums.bukkit.org/threa…..740.16410/)
WormholeXTreme – the Stargate plugin that has been up on the server for a week or so now. As I figured in the previous post this needs some kind of associated cost to avoid people putting 3 in the one place on the same network *cough* :P The plugins author is thankfully adding costs to it soon though so yay. I strongly encourage people to look at the guides for this plugin as you can do nifty things like have different networks, stargate shapes and even private stargates with an IDC/password. Just try to keep the public network stargates reasonably spaced, no reason to have too many in close proximity (eg. I'll be moving the ForestDome stargate to HomeFort once I work out the best place to stick it there) and having excess ones on the public network is going to make scrolling through the list a pain over time :P

Cookbook – custom recipes for use on craft tables/furnaces! On the weekend I'll put up a post for custom recipes.
rTriggers – Allows message-of-the-day, tip lists, death messages and all sorts of funky things. Currently I only have it set to show who is online when you join, a quick join message about using /tips and a simple death message.

Sploderrows – I've only implemented one part of this plugin, it is now possible to detonate TNT from a distance, yay! To do this simply hold gunpowder in your hand and right-click whilst aiming at the TNT like a bow. A "splode" arrow will be fired that will trigger the TNT. NOTE – for this to work you must also have TNT in your backpack as it costs 1 TNT per fire. The splode arrow itself does very little damage, just enough to trigger the TNT, so accidentally firing one into the wall infront of you isn't a worry :P One side effect is you can't open chests, etc by right-clicking if you have gunpowder in your hand…….yeah I don't think that happens very often either.

PumpkinDiver – this plugin allows you to breathe underwater for MUCH longer than usual when you wear a pumpkin as a helmet. You'll want to change the default pumpkin helmet image as it obscures the view too much, I'm using this one – > http://dl.dropbox.com/u/183829…..inblur.png
See the plugin page for how to add to your minecraft.jar

I'm looking at a few other Bukkit plugins and am open to suggestions. So far these plugins haven't put much if any extra load on the server (well except for Stargates but that was no more strain than /tp put on it). I want to avoid ones which might cause lag (eg. NPC ones are known to do this). Low overhead plugins like CreatureBox (which lets you move/configure monster/animal spawners) and MonsterHunt sound pretty fun though.
Anyway, have a look through the Bukkit plugin lists and let me know if you come across anything useful/cool.
