On behalf of all aussies I'd like to thank the U.S. for the pitiful state of your dollar. I've been saving up all year and buying nothing just so I can rape my wallet over the next 11 days.
- Day One -
Medal of Honor – I just finished BC2 and MW2 so I guess I'm in the mood for modern shooters in need of a dose of Ritalin.
Borderlands GOTY – This one always intrigued me but not quite enough for the price. Yeah 7.50 sounds about right.
Oblivion GOTY – lost me disc :( and never got the expansions, two birds etc. Don't like my chances of finishing them all pre-Skyrim though.
- Day Two -
Call of Duty: Black Ops – because I seem to be one of the few who did like World at War.
Meridian 4 Adventure Pack – Syberia 1 & 2, Still Life 1 & 2, Scratches Directors Cut and Nikopol. Been wanting all of these except maybe Nikopol so very happy with this bundle.
Dark Messiah of Might & Magic – this has been on my list for a long long time, glad I finally caught it at the sweet-fuck-all price range.
Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic – been wanting to replay this and my new pc has no DVD drive……no really
Alpha Prime – I'm a shooter junkie and heard this was average but enjoyable.
- Day Three -
Resident Evil 5 – never bought any Resident Evil, but played some of 4 on xbox and really enjoyed it so what the hell.
Bioshock 2 – Loved the original….this can't be THAT much of a let down……….can it?
Aliens Vs Predator – I am a sucker for aliens, not so much predator. Can't be worse than the movies right?
Magicka – so many ites picked this one up I can't help but be curious ……co-op fun ahoy?
- Day Four -
Dragon Age 2 – yay finally!…boo not as cheap as I was hoping :( oh well still shitloads cheaper than in aussie stores.
Assassin's Creed: Director's Cut – Unsure if this series will be my thing so just the first game for now.
Torchlight – Heard a lot of good things. Aw no co-op though.
- Day Five -
Singularity – Heard this one was quite underrated, damn thing wasn't on the Steam AU store so I had to get it gifted.
- Day Six -
Deus Ex: Invisible War – Never bothered with this thanks to the whole "consolitis" thing. The upcoming Deus Ex looks great though so it's time to just hold my nose and give this one a go.
Stalker: Clear Sky – Would probably have skipped this and gone straight for Pripyat if I hadn't heard about the Complete mod.
- Day Seven -
GTAIV: Complete Edition – Loved GTA:SA to DEATH, here's hoping this is now over its consolitis.
Batman Arkham Asylum GOTY – YAY, was beginning to think this wouldn't get a daily sale.
Far Cry – Obligatory "getting it for Steam" purchase.
- Day Eight -
NOTHING – Been waiting for Dead Rising 2 but that discount is a disappointment so I think I'll bump it to xmas. Rift sounded ok but has been mentioned too many times in the same sentence as WoW for my liking. Risen also sounds good, but it's not on the AU store and I don't quite care enough about it to get it gifted. Also, it's starting to dawn on me how many games I'll probably be getting on the last day of the sale so my wallet gets some sleep today.
- Day Nine -
Mafia 2 Digital Deluxe + DLC Jimmy's Vendetta & Joe's Adventures – Awesome discount, was thinking of waiting for xmas for this but it can take the time I was going to allot to Dead Rising 2 (fuck you Capcom) instead.
Fallout 3: GOTY – FUCKING FINALLY. Installing now.
Mass Effect – Getting it for Steam. Looking forward to the epic pre-ME3 marathon.
Universe Sandbox – Had resigned myself to the fact this wasn't getting discounted, a nice (non-Koos) surprise!
Splinter Cell – The collector's pack was tempting, but never played this series so just the first two just to make sure I don't hate the gameplay.
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory – See previous.
- Day Ten -
Dead Space Pack – ahhh regional pricing! I already have Dead Space 1, but the individual price of DS2 for aussies is $34.99. By buying both I save $15……wtf……if you are going to try to price gouge us EA at least do it right.
Hitman: Blood Money – I gather this is the one to get in this series?
- Day Eleven -
THQ Hit Collection – No Metro 2033 or Red Faction: Guerilla daily, boo….though this way I get those two and a pile of others that look ok.
The Sherlock Holmes Collection - I have a hankering for some old school adventure/mystery and this has plenty of both.
Timeshift – Been wanting this one for a few years. Time mechanic sounds nifty.
Exodus From The Earth – See Alpha Prime comment.
Just Cause 2 DLC - Didn't get any of these in the first daily sale because I wasn't sure the game would hold my attention. It does and is the most insanely fun game I've played this year.
Well that was by far my biggest gaming haul ever….not actually buying much the last few years created quite a backlog for this new pc. All for the price of 3-4 new releases in australian retail gaming stores, bless you Steam.
Oh look I now have two weeks off and the weather outside is freezing and windy. :D
